After winning the league, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Cup last season, now Barça's futsal section can celebrate again after beating ElPozo Murcia 4-3 to secure the Spanish Super Cup. Goals from Joselito, Marcenio, Esquerdinha and Aicardo gave the team their second Super Cup, although this success was tainted by a potentially serious injury to Esquerdinha.
Fast start
Things couldn't have started things better for Barça, who scored two quick goals; Joselito after two minutes and Marcenio in the fifth. Esquerdinha put the Blaugrana further ahead (3-0, min 13) as the Catalans looked to get the job done early. However, Esquerdinha's injury, for which he was immediately transferred to the hospital - rocked Barça, and ElPozo cut the deficit with a goal from Matteus (min 19).
Despite the handicap of losing the Brazilian, Barça, through Aicardo, managed to make it 4-1 right at the start of the second half (min 24). It was a goal that turned out to be decisive, because late goals from Pol Pacheco and Andresito really made a game of it. Unable to equalise, Barça were crowned champions again, six years after the first time, in 2013.
