Agreement for Thomas Heurtel to stay until 2021
Thomas Heurtel will continue to delight the Palau Blaugrana for at least two more years. The club and the French guard have agreed to extend his stay until 30 June 2021, with an optional contract extension through to 2022. The 30-year-old has just had his best season yet at Barça, especially towards the end of the campaign.
Two cup MVPs
Heurtel has helped the side to consecutive Copa del Rey wins, and claimed the MVP award on both occasions. In 2018, at Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, he made 13.6 ppoints and 10 assists, and this year posted averages of 16.6 points and 4.3 assists.
Great end to the season
In two years at FC Barcelona, Heurtel has played a total of 153 games in the Liga Endesa, Euroleague, Copa del Rey and Super Cup, averaging 10.8 points in Europe and 12.9 in the league.
In the 2019 Playoffs, Heurtel was especially impressive. His average of 19.6 points included some fantastic displays, such as the 30 points in game two at Madrid, and his evaluation of 44 at Divina Seguros Joventut in the quarter finals, with 32 points and 9 assists.
