Lionel Messi receives Fair Play award

The Argentinian was chosen by the Barça Players Association for his conduct on and off the field

This Monday morning. Leo Messi received the recognition of the Barça Players Association for his fair play. The FC Barcelona player was presented with the Barça Players award for the 2015-16 season by Association president, Ramon Alfonseda. The event was also attended by FC Barcelona president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, club director responsible for relations with the Association, Pau Vilanova, and the Damm counciler (the award's sponsor), Ramon Agenjo.
 
The Argentinian showed his gratitude upon receiving this distinction, which is awarded by the Association in recognition of the Club's first team player to have most stood out over the season for his conduct on and off the pitch. At the end of the 2015-16 season, more than 3,300 people voted on social media for the player to have demonstrated the most fair play. From the six finalists selected, a panel made up of 15 people related to the world of sport chose Leo Messi. Ramon Alfonseda presented Messi with an aged bronze and silver sculpture; a work by the artist Agustí Puig which represents fair play.
