Barça Lassa beat BM Logroño La Rioja by 28-24 at the Pitu Rochel in Alicante, a win which meant that the Blaugranes qualified for their sixth consecutive Copa del Rey final. The match was dominated throughout by the Catalans who showed great strength in defence, which allowed them a platform for success in attack. Víctor Tomás and Aleix Gómez were the top scorers for Barça, with 5 goals each.
Determined
The game began fairly equally, but the visitors eventually edged ahead (8-3, min 15), forcing Miguel Ángel Velasco to ask for a time out. Kevin Möller was excellent in the Barça goal - with 9 stops in the first half alone - ensuring his team could take advantage of the speed of their front men. At the break, Barça led 17-10 and were well on top.
To the final!
Despite consistent attacking from Miguel Ángel Velasco's side in the second half, Barça Lassa were lethal on the counterattack, Ariño scoring the last Barça goal. Now, a difficult game awaits the Catalans against Liberbank Cuenca (7.00pm CET), but they'll go all out to win their 23rd Copa del Rey and sixth in succession.
