FC Barcelona’s Women’s team posed for their official team photograph on Wednesday. The Liga and Cup holders are back to full strength now that the internationals and new signings have joined the team’s training sessions. A total of six new players reported to Xavi Llorens on Wednesday: Chelsea, Marta Torrejón, Ruth García, Esther Romero, Willy Romero and Jelena Cankovic.
The team photo, which will be used by UEFA, captured all 19 first team players and 6 B team players. The reserve players who appear in the photo are Carla Puiggròs, Nuria Garrote, Andrea Sánchez, Carola García, Alba Moreno and Pilar Garrote.
Xavi Llorens at the helm for another season
The FCB Women’s team start the season with the clear intention of defending the league and cup titles they won last year. In addition to these objectives, the team will focus on improving their performance in the Champions League. Xavi Llorens will manage the team once again, and he’ll be assisted by Berta Carles and Rosa Palomares. Before the season gets underway, however, the Barça players will participate in the prestigious Calais tournament. Barça’s first opponent will be the reigning champions of Europe, Wolfsburg.
