The 2013/14 Handball Champions League gets under way at the Palau Blaugrana on Saturday with the visit of Swiss club Wacker Thun. FC Barcelona have never played the visitors before, but have met Swiss teams 16 times in the past.
Unbeaten at Palau Blaugrana
Barça have won 14 of those matches, the other two ending in a win and a draw, both against Pfadi Winterthur in the 1995/96 and 1998/99 seasons respectively.
The Palau Blaugrana is not an easy place for Swiss teams to visit. They have lost all 8 of the games played in Barcelona, with FC Barcelona scoring 263 goals and conceding just 193.
Recent visits
It is more than eight years since FCB last met a side from Switzerland. That was in 2009/10, when Amicitia Zurich were at the Palau, and lost 37-26.
In 2011/12 and 2012/13, Barça faced Schaffhausen Kadetten and won both times, in 2011/12 by 33 to 29 and in 2012/13 by 36 to 25.
