Carles Puyol and the Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen will together hand over the World Cup Trophy before this Sunday’s Final between Germany and Argentina. Barça’s former captain will make the symbolic presentation of the trophy which he won with the Spanish national team in South Africa in 2010
It so happens that two players who have been teammates of Puyol in the last few seasons, Leo Messi and Javier Mascherano will play in the grand Final of the World Cup at the Maracana Stadium (Rio de Janeiro). It’s worth recalling that, as from September, Puyol will join the professional Football Department of FC Barcelona, as the Sports Director’s number two
So, Carles Puyol will perform the same function as Fabio Cannavaro did before the World Cup Final of 2010. Cannavaro was captain of the Italian national team which won the World Cup four years earlier, in 2006
