The FC Barcelona handball team march on. This season they have already claimed four trophies, the latest addition being the Asobal Cup which they claimed in León against Fraikin BM Granollers. That win was their fourth consecutive title in the competition which they have won now on 10 separate occasions.
Xavi Pascual’s side began the season in excellent fashion, winning the Catalan Super Cup against Granollers and then beating the same opponents to claim their 17th Spanish Super Cup. That victory was Xavi Pascual’s fourth in the competition as coach and the club’s third in a row. Barça also claimed victory in the World Club Cup, beating Qatari side Al Sadd in the final 34-26. The blaugranes claimed their second win in the competition, equalling BM Ciudad Real’s record of two titles.
There could well be more silverware to come with Pascual’s leading the Asobal League and though to the quarter-finals of the Spanish Cup where they will face Naturhouse Logroño. In Europe they are already in the last 16 of the Champions League with two group games still to come. 2015 is already looking good for the Barça handball team.
