FC Barcelona and Real Betis have reached an agreement for the loan of Martín Montoya until 30 June 2016. The previous agreement for the loan of the player to FC Internazionale of Milan until the end of the current season has been terminated.
The Catalan is returning from Italy after failing to play as often he had hoped, appearing in just three league games and another in the cup.
The 25-year-old left Barça after three seasons in the first team and 66 appearances, in which he scored two goals. The right-back joined the club when he was only eight, and rose up through the youth ranks before making his official debut in the 2010/11 season under Pep Guardiola.
In the 2012/13 season he played 23 games in all competitions. He played four games fewer the next year, 19, and in his final season at FCB he played in 12 matches.
He won league, cup and Champions League medals in that time, and also won caps for the Catalan and Spanish national teams.
