The Board of Directors was informed on Monday that FC Barcelona Lassa basketball player Tomas Satoransky has decided to terminate the contract that tied him to the club for four seasons in order to join the Washington Wizards of the NBA.
Satoransky arrived in Barcelona from Cajasol Sevilla in the 2014/15 season at just 22 years of age after starring both in the Liga Endesa and with his national team. In his first season at Barça, the Czech guard played 73 games (41 league, 27 Euroleague, 3 Copa del Rey, and 2 Super Cup) while stepping into one of the team's leading roles.
Last season Satoransky made 75 more appearances (43 League, 29 Euroleague, 2 Super Cup and 1 Copa del Rey) while winning the ACB Super Cup. He was named the League's player of the month in April and he also received the award for Most Spectacular Player of the Season.
Satoransky averaged 12.7 points and 4.4 assists per game in the playoffs while shooting 68.2% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc.
Satoransky renewed his deal this past March, which would have kept him with FC Barcelona until 2020.
