FC Barcelona manager Luis Enrique made it clear in Tuesday’s press conference that he aims to start on the front foot in the Spanish Super Cup against Sevilla.
The Catalans hold a 2-0 lead from Sunday’s first leg at the Sanchez Pizjuan but the manager is not prepared to rest on his laurels and insists that his side will attack from the off.
Speaking to the press on Tuesday, Luis Enrique also addressed a number of other issues. Here is the pick of what he had to say:
"The goal is to win the game and to be superior to Sevilla in the way we play our football. We know that the tie can be reopened. It is for this reason that we want to strike first."
"The first leg (of the Spanish Super Cup) left me with good sensations. I do not remember a clear opportunity for our opponents. We defended at a very high level."
“It is not easy to adapt and perform from the beginning. (Umtiti) has been here for a couple of weeks and we play every three days and so we need all our players available, especially after the injuries we have suffered.”
Speaking of possible further movement in the transfer market, Luis Enrique thinks that “players will arrive and I also think players will leave”.
