The Barça handball team took a deserved win in a rearranged fixture against León, the first of two games in three days for Carlos Ortega's team. The 35-30 win saw Melvyn Richardson top score with eight goals and keeper Emil Neilsen record a 48.75% save ratio.
As was expected it was a tight affair early on against Ademar León but with Neilsen stopping everything, the blaugranes edged into a 13-10 lead with 17 minutes gone. The visitors went from strength to strength and at the break they stretched their lead to 20-13.
Ademar León came out in the second half and cut Barça's lead to 27-23, only Neilsen preventing them from closing the gap further. At 33-27 with seven minutes left, Barça then closed out a 35-30 win to move ever closer to the league title.
