Barça 45-38 Cangas: A win to stay top

Another win at the Palau Blaugrana for the Barça handball team with a 45-38 victory over Frigoríficos del Morrazo Cangas. The blaugranes upped the pace in the second half after an evenly balance opening period in which the visitors took the lead at one point.  

Slight advantage 

The game began with both keepers, Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas for Barça and Jorge Pérez for Cangas, keeping the score down with several impressive saves. Early on the visitors led 3-2 before N'Guessan led the blaugrana attack into a 3 goal lead on 16 minutes. 

Carlos Ortega's team saw Cangas come back and take the lead but the blauganes reacted and before half time they clawed their way back in front at 19-17 thanks to Pérez de Vargas' saves and Richardson's goals. 

Second half dominance 

The blaugranes did not let their lead slip in the second half and Javi Rodríguez put them eight points ahead before Jan Blas extended it to nine with his first goal in the ASOBAL league. Barça closed out the win at 45-38 to maintain top spot in the league ahead of their next game, a trip to Zagreb in the Champions League.
