Cartagena 2-3 Barça: League leaders!

The Barça futsal team have gone top of the league, making the most of Peñíscola's recent loss to lead with five gameweeks to go. First half goals by Matheus, Pito, and Martel, plus super saves by Dídac in the second half helped the team to a morale-boosting win.

Pito gets things going

Cartagena started well, hitting the post, but Matheus opened the scoring after regaining possession (0-1, min 10). Barça's joy would prove to be short-lived, however, as Mellado scored for the home side just 28 seconds later (1-1, min 11).

Pito entered the court and things changed. First the Brazilian recovered the ball while defending a corner. before finishing off a move with Eric Martel and Antonio to make it 1-2 (min 13). Second, he regained possession again, countered, before assisting Martel (1-3, min 16).

Dídac makes the difference

Halftime came at the right time for Barça, but Cartagena still managed to get one back son after the restart, Dídac Plana with no chance against an Osamanmusa shot into the postage stamp (2-3, min 26).

The goal spurred on Cartagena to try to level, while Barça sought out a fourth goal. The home side were forcing the issue, getting ever closer with a fly keeper, but Dídac Plana did the business to ensure a blaugrana win, including three saves in the final minute to see Barça take three points home and top spot in the league to boot.
