Celebrations all round. The Barça futsal team have continued their recent good form with their seventh league win in a row, this time against the European champions, Palma Futsal. The Palau Blaugrana was packed and vibrant as the team celebrated the Club's 125th anniversary – along with the mascot, CAT – and the game ended in the best possible way with three points secured, while setting down a real marker for the season.
The goals were scored by Pito (2), a fully recovered Canela (2), Adolfo just back himself, Tiouré and Dídac. And even Palma taking the lead twice didn't spoil the party, as Tino Pérez's side showed character and quality to come through to win the final game of 2024 at the Palau Blaugrana in some style.
Even first half
Things didn't start great for Barça, Neguinho quickly putting Palma Futsal ahead (0-1, min 4). However, Barça gradually applied pressure until Pito collected an Antonio pass to finish past Luan Muller in the Palma goal (1-1, min 9). The score remained unchanged and all-square at half-time despite both teams' best efforts.
Blaugranes put on second half show
Palma again managed to beat Dídac after the restart through Machado (2-1, min 27), but Barça stepped on the gas from then on. Touré soon equalised (2-2, min 28), before Pito completed the turnaround (3-2, min 28). Adolfo scored a stunner to extend the lead (4-2, min 31), followed by Catela coming to the fore – first a superb goal via a cutback to squeeze in the fifth (5-2, min 34) and then a 10 metre penalty that made the Palau public roar (6-2, min 35). Palma were playing with a goalkeeper as an outfield player to try to get back into the game and Dídac took full advantage to score the seventh into an empty net (7-2, min 39). Still time for Gordillo to score the final goal (7-3, min 40), but it didn't matter, it was party time all the same!
