Barça Alusport made it through to their third straight League Final this evening, seeing off Caja Segovia in what proved a tough game, in which all the goals came in the second half. Lin and Saad, with two goals in a minute, finally opened up the Caja Segovia defence and opened the floodgates for three more late strikes.
Space at a premium
It was a tense first 10 minutes– as one would expect from the decisive game in a semi-final playoff and the visitors were well organised and solid – restricting Barça to hardly any chances. Wilde had perhaps the best opportunity after Jordi Torras set him up with a great through ball, but his effort went just wide. Then Segovia’s young talents began to open up the game and Sedano was soon in action. With Lozano and Fernandao both limping off, Barça had to look for different options, with the long range shot their most common weapon, but the goals wouldn’t come and the teams went in goalless at the break.
Game opens up
It was a much less cagey affair in the second half and with Fernandao back on the pitch, Barça began to find more spaces. Lin seized on the first mistake Herrero had made all game to open the scoring and almost immediately afterwards, Saad scored the second after a brilliant piece of skill, beating various players, dummying his shot and shooting home with his weaker right foot. Two up, the Barça fans at the Palau began to sense victory.
....and the goals keep coming!
Caja Segovia employed their outfield with seven minutes to go and with Sergio on, Barça were forced back before Lin, Ari and Aicardo finished off the game with three quick goals to ensure Carmona will take his team through to the final once again.
