Araujo: 'We have a great group and team'
Today Ronald Araujo addressed the media at a packed press conference for the upcoming semi-final against Osasuna, emphasising that “The Super Cup is an important trophy for the Club”.
“I always want to give my all when I put on the FC Barcelona jersey", remarked the blaugrana number 4. “I am aware of the responsibility that comes with wearing this Club's captain's armband, it makes me proud. I try to help the team and encourage when things aren't going that well”.
More solidity in defence
As team captain, Araujo also gave his thoughts on the current situation, stating “we lack a bit more resolve in both areas to close out games earlier. However, we have top quality players". “We are working on correcting the defensive mistakes. Getting back to a certain level at the back is very important as we won trophies that way last year”, he added. And he hopes that winning the Super Cup will prove a turning point for this year, echoing his coach, Xavi Hernández' thoughts. “We have a great group and team for winning the Super Cup".
However, the road to success starts with defeating Osasuna. “They are very tough team, but we will try to bring our football to win”, he explained. Barça will run out at the KSU Stadium targeting no less than victory on 11 January.
