Six Barça Women players in the FIFA XI

The Barça Women players Aitana Bonmatí, Irene Paredes, Ona Batlle, Patri Guijarro, Caroline Graham Hansen and Salma Paralluelo have all been included in the best team of the season for the 2023/24 campaign at FIFA's The Best Awards. 

The governing body of world football organise the awards on a yearly basis with the 2024 edition being held remotely. Barça dominated the The Best Women's 11 at the event with no less than six representatives in the team, reflecting the outstanding performances of both the individuals involved and the team as a whole over the season. Also in the best XI was Lucy Bronze, a Barça Women squad member last season when she put an exceptional campaign just like her team mates. 

Season for the history books 

The 2023/24 season was one of the most memorable for Barça Women, winning no less than four trophies in the campaign. In January they claimed the Spanish Super Cup, and in April the league title followed with four games of the season still remaining. After winning 29 and drawing one of their games in the Liga F, the campaign was rounded off with victory over Real Sociedad in the final of the Copa de la Reina. 

The crowning moment of the 2023/24 season was still to come. On 25 May in the San Mamés stadium in Bilbao, Barça Women defeated Olympique Lyonnais to take their third Champions League, solidifying their position as the team to beat in women's club football.
