It's always a party when the women play at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, but aside from a nice 4-1 win, today was also the turn for the team to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the club.
Naturally, the new CAT mascot was there for the occasion, joining in the ovation for Patri Guijarro as she collected the league's November player of the month prize.
And it only took 16 minutes for the celebrations to continue on the pitch. Brugts caught the rebound off Pina's original shot, and Barça were a goal to the good. Just five minutes later, Graham Hansen opportunistically met the end of an Ona Batlle cross to extend the lead and moments later did some assisting of her own for Aitana.
The deluge of goals didn't cease, and after Patri had caused a Betis mix-up as the game restarted after goal number three, she then gifted the ball to Graham Hansen to get her second in the space of mere instants, and as good as seal the win with the whole second half still to play.
But much as Barça looked like they were going to add more goals, there was no more for the 4,305 fans to enjoy. The only goal of the second half was in the net defended by debutant Ellie Roebuck, who came frustratingly close to a clean sheet, only being beaten by Zouhir in the very last minute of the game.
Attention now switches back to the UWCL, and a game with Swedish side Hammarby on the 12th at 9pm CET.
