Madrid CFF 1-8 Barça: Powering onward

Sig games, six wins. Barça kept up their unstoppable form in the Liga F by racking up eight goals in Fuenlabrada. If ever there was game of two halves, it was this one. They were surprisingly a goal down at the break, but if the home side thought they were about to cause a major upset, they had another think coming in the second half.

The Estadio Fernando Torres was enraptured when their team took the lead after a quarter of an hour, and the home delight continued as Barça pushed, pushed and pushed for a goal of their own but couldn't get the door open.

Madrid CFF were defending superbly, and continued to do so even after Walsh had finally found a way through. Half an hour to go, and the teams were still level. At that point, nobody could have imagined that Barça would find the time to score another seven... But they did!

Walsh turned provider as Pajor scored her sixth goal of the season, and moments later Vicky López made it three.

With a whoosh, the floodgates opened. Alexia Putellas left-footed a delicious forth, Walsh added her second of the day, and then Alexia scored a goal that moves her up to fourth in Barça's all-time list. Ona and Jana then finished off an incredible job, and there was also time for Irene Paredes to get her first minutes of playing time since suffering an injury in August.
