Barça 3-1 Real Sociedad: First home win
In their first home game of the season Barça Women got off to a winning start with a 3-1 victory over Real Sociedad thanks to a brace from Caroline Graham Hansen and a penalty from Alexia. Real Sociedad scored a late consolation goal but the results was never in doubt in the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
Aitana denied by the woodwork
After a inconsistent performance in the season opener against Deportivo La Coruña despite the three points, Barça Women were looking for an improvement at home to Real Sociedad. In the opening 10 minutes Aitana was denied by the crossbar.
Two goals from top scorer
After Barça laid siege to the Real Sociedad goal, Caroline Graham Hansen handed the blaugranes the lead with a good finish following a move involving Rolfö, Alexia and Walsh. Just three minutes later Graham Hansen added a second from a free kick to give Pere Romeu's team a 2-0 lead at half time.
Alexia makes no mistake
Real Sociedad made changes at half time but rarely threatened Cata Coll's goal. For Barça Aitana went close again before Alexia Putelles converted a penalty she herself had won just after the hour mark. 3-0 up and in control, Barça did allow the visitors a consolation after Cata Coll lost the ball and Pardo made it 3-1 with 13 minutes left. Kika Nazareth almost opened her Barça account near the end but the scoreline stayed at 3-1 at the final whistle to maintain the blaugranes' 100% record so far in the league.
