Fifth UEFA Women's Champions League Final in six years!

Victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge earns a fourth consecutive final for the Barça women's team

Barça have qualified for their fifth UEFA Women's Champions League final in six years, and this time they needed an epic fightback to do so after losing the first leg at home to Chelsea. But they went to Stamford Bridge and got the result they needed to continue their insatiable desire to keep making history.

Unique

Next up is San Mamés, home of Athletic Club,  on May 25, when for the fourth season in a row Barça will be one of the two teams competing for glory at the showpiece event. They are the first club to so in the Champions League era, although Olympique Lyon and Wolfsburg did do so before the new name was adopted in 2009.

Budapest 2019 was Barça's first ever final, where the 4-1 defeat to Lyon was the start of a learning curve that has kept on going up and up. In 2020/21, Vicky Losada lifted the club's first ever European trophy in Gothenburg, following an emphatic 4-0 victory over Chelsea. 2021/22 brought another sad occasion when the women lost 3-2 in Turin, and to Lyon yet again, but last May in Eindhoven, the trophy was won for a second time in that memorable final against Wolfsburg that ended 3-2.

Now a new final awaits, and it will once again be against French opposition. If it's not Olympique Lyonnais yet again, it will be París-Saint Germain. All eyes next month will be on Bilbao. Som-hi, culers!
