Barça Women arrive on TikTok

The social media channel is a way for the Club to bring the players close to the fans and engage new audiences amongst the more 1bn users of the platform

FC Barcelona present a new official TikTok account  (@fcbfemeni) dedicated exclusively to the women's football first team. The launch comes as part of the Club's desire to create digital contents and bring the players close to the fans whilst at the same time opening up new audiences and setting them role models for the next generation. 

Available in over 150 markets and with a community of more than 1 billion users around the world, diversifying on TikTok is a strategic move by the Club though which the Barça women's team will have the chance to connect with fans from all over the globe. 

Via innovative, creative and entertaining content with the first team players themselves to the forefront sharing day to day moments, the Club is committed to making original, authentic content characteristic of the platform to attract lovers of women's football on TikTok. 

The informal and relaxed tone of content that brings together users on TikTok will give fans the chance to share special, personal moment between the players as well as allowing them access to sporting content from important points in the season such as Women's Champions League games and Clásicos against Real Madrid. 

The TikTok platform is of special interest for FC Barcelona as its user profile is one of interaction and creativity. The community of users welcome social diversity, are interested in women's sport and promote the empowerment of female athletes through a sense of real connection. 

 

The launch of the new Barça Women account is accompanied by a video featuring players Asisat Oshoala and Mapi León in which the defender discovers the existence of the channel thanks to her team mate. The brief clip is an example of the direct, relaxed style that will set the tone for the audiovisual content on TikTok @fcbfemeni. 

The FC Barcelona community in the digital sphere in continuous growth 

The Barça community on digital entertainment platforms now is close to 411 million followers on all profiles and the Club is the global leader in interactions amongst football clubs. 

On TikTok the Club has doubled its growth over the last year and is the platform that is growing most rapidly amongst young people with more 27 million followers around the world and more 623.5 million likes on its one pre-existing official channel, www.tiktok.com/@fcbarcelona.

It is through the creation of new accounts such as this for the Barça Women's team, who already have more than 2.8 million followers worldwide on entertainment platforms, that the Club continues to strengthen its leading position and presence in the digital world.
