Another attendance record at Spotify Camp Nou. This time FC Barcelona Women thrilled a crowd of 46,967 against Bayern Munich on Champions League matchday three. A record for a group stage match in Europe's premier club competition.
The figure of 46,967 fans notably surpasses the previous record of 18,341 who watched PSG v Real Madrid in the group stage of the 2021/22 season at the Parc des Princes.
If we compare today's crowd at Spotify Camp Nou against the group stage matches so far this season, the difference is even greater, with 8,012 people having watched Olympique Lyonnais v Arsenal at the Groupama Stadium.
So, yet another record to add to the consecutive world records from last season for a women's football match - the first being the quarterfinal against Real Madrid watched by 90,185 people at the Spotify Camp Nou, before 91,553 people attended for the semifinal against Wolfsburg some weeks later.
Let's not forget that Spotify Camp Nou's capacity was limited to 74,799 for the game against Bayern Munich. The work to partially demolish the third tier as part of the renovation of Spotify Camp Nou has led to temporary limitations on the numbers of seats available, as well as the entry points, with specifically gates 30 to 53 remaining closed.
