The Barça women have won the 50th edition of the Trofeo Teide, but they needed penalties to do it despite dominating the 90 minutes of regulation time.
Following an international break, they will then regroup for the league opener against Levante Las Planas on September 11.
Following a blistering start, it was eventually down to Geyse Ferreira to convert a fine assist from Claudia Pina to give the blaugrana the lead just before the half hour at the Estadio de Los Cuartos.
Then Tenerife equalised with their first shot of the game. But what a shot it was, as Laura Ortega converted from the middle of the park just before half time
Barça crated chance after chance in the second half, but goalkeeper Nay Cáceres was in spectacular form.
The game went to penalties, where Sandra Paños showed her class by saving the first Tenerife attempt, and from there Barça went on to win the shootout 4-2, and the trophy as well.
