The Euro 2022 women's tournament semi-final saw two Barça players pitted against each other: England's Lucy Bronze and Sweden's Fridolina Rolfö. After an exhilarating 90 minutes of football it will be the recently signed Bronze who will be figuring in Sunday's final at Wembley after the full back contributed a goal and an assist in England's 4-0 win over the Scandinavians.
Striker Rolfö and her Sweden side were on top for the opening half hour but the game turned when Bronze put in a perfect cross for her England team mate Mead to score the first goal of the semi-final.
Just three minutes into the second half, Bronze made it 2-0 for England with a great header from a corner. Rolfö led from the front for Sweden as the Barça striker tried to galvanise her team mates as they searched for a way back into the game. However, a third goal from Russo and another from Kirby at Bramall Lane stadium in Sheffield cemented a place in Sunday's final for the host nation against either France or Germany who meet in Wednesday's other semi-final.
