Today June 30, five players are confirmed as no longer being part of the Barça women’s football team:
Melanie Serrano: The legendary players announced her retirement after 18 years in the senior team at an emotional press conference and bade farewell to the fans at the Johan Cruyff. Her 517 appearances are a record and she will stay on at the club working in a non-playing capacity.
Jenni Hermoso: The team’s all-time leading goalscorer (181) is also leaving for the second time, having announced she is going to play in Mexico. The Madrid-born striker has been at Barça for six and a half years.
Leila Ouahabi: A product of the academy, the left back has enjoyed some marvellous years at the club. In nine seasons she appeared in 199 games.
Lieke Martens: The Dutch winger has collected all kinds of team and individual honours in her time in blaugrana. Her 158 appearances in the Barça shirt are a record for a foreigner.
Candela Andújar: After rising through the youth ranks to make her senior debut, the Catalan has spent the last two seasons in loan to Valencia. From 2017 to 2020, she played 44 games for Barça.
