Barça Women 4 - 0 Levante: Invincible at Estadi Johan Cruyff

Barça Women ran out resounding winners against Levante, with the final score 4-0. 10 wins in 10 games, even with a depleted squad. Jonatan Giráldez' team excelled in a match against of the toughest rivals in the league, currently sitting in fourth place.

Patience under pressure

The home side took control from kick-off, but Levante made it difficult throughout, particularly in defence, stopping Barça finding a way through. However, a superb shot from just outside the area by Aitana Bonmatí in the 13th minute broke the away side's resistance. 

Put under intense pressure by Levante on several occasions, Barça remained calm, but it took until the 44th minute to score the second goal. The world's best player, Alexia Putellas, scored a header from inside the six-yard box after a great cross by Claudia Pina to go in a well-deserved 2-0 up at half-time.

Win sealed in second half

The second half was similar to the first. Levante bravely pressed Barça as they played out from the back, but to no avail. It was actually the home side who went on extend their lead with substitute Lieke Martens scoring from inside the area in the 66th minute to make it 3-0. 

Barça's dominance continued, when in time added on, Caligaris fouled substitute Jennifer Hermoso to concede a penalty that she got up and scored to make it 4-0.

Barça remain invincible in Estadi Johan Cruyff, wining all their games. They have now scored 219 goals while conceding only 18, extending their lead in the league even further, having earned a maximum of 30 points from 10 games.
