Fridolina Rolfö has signed for FC Barcelona. Following on from Ingrid Syrstad Engen, who also joined from Wolfsburg, the Swedish international has signed a contract until 30 June 2023 at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, in the presence of director Xavier Puig and the manager of women’s football, Markel Zubizarreta.
27-year-old Rolfö is a quick, powerful left winger who can also play at centre forward thanks to her strong goalscoring instinct. Barça suffered against her in the 2018/19 Champions League semi-final when she was at Bayern Munich and especially the season after when she scored the only goal of the game for Wolfsburg in San Sebastián.
A silver medallist with Sweden at the Rio Olympics, she is now preparing for her second Games in Tokyo.
What she said
"Physically I am ready to help the team. I’m a fast player, good in the one-on-one and I hope to offer a lot up front."
"I’m looking forward to enjoying the Liga, but also the Champions League. It’s a great challenge.”
"I’m very happy to join the team and hope you enjoy watching me and the team on the pitch.”
