It wasn't to be. Barça Women couldn't beat Granadilla in a match in which Lluís Cortés' team worked hard throughout the 90 minutes. Coupled with Atlético Madrid's win, it means the Blaugrana finish the League season in second place with 78 points.
The match started with a shot from the hosts which hit the post, but from then on, the visitors were able to control the game. A shot from Duggan which hit the crossbar was the first chance that Barça had, and they should've gone ahead when Oshoala was well placed. Granadilla thought they'd scored before half-time, but the goal was ruled out and the half ended scoreless.
Intensity
In the second half, the visitors attacked with greater intensity and Melanie sent another warning with a shot against the post. Oshoala had another great chance in the 49th minute, but goalkeeper, Aline, was equal to her shot. Granadilla launched a counterattack which came to nothing, but shortly afterwards, a shot by María José found the net (min 55, 1-0). Barça pushed hard but the chances that fell to Andressa, Stefanie and Alexia all finished in Aline's hands.
