FC Barcelona's Argentinian and captain, Leo Messi, is a candidate to win the Puskas Award for the best goal of the year after his strike against Nigeria in the 2018 World Cup. After a spectacular pass by Ever Banega, the No.10 delightfully took the ball in his stride before firing it back across the keeper and into the net.
Messi, however, will have to compete with; Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Gareth Bale (Real Madrid), Ricardo Quaresma (Portugal), De Arrascaeta (Cruzeiro), Christodoulopoulos (AEK), Pavard (France), Cheryshev (Russia), McGee (Melbourne City) and Salah ( Liverpool).
This past campaign, the Argentinian became the European Golden Boot with 34 goals in the League.
