FC Barcelona trained on Tuesday on the Tito Vilanova pitch at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper in the final workout in preparation for the Copa del Rey fixture against Hércules. Before starting the session, Luis Enrique's team held a minutes silence for the victims of the Chapecoense aviation accident in Colombia.
The first team players Ter Stegen, Piqué, Rakitic, Sergio, Messi, Neymar Jr, J. Alba, S. Roberto and André Gomes, with the club's permission, didn't train today. Luis Suárez and Mascherano, even though they didn't have to, chose to come in and train anyway. Also, the Barça B players Borja López, Nili, Aleñá, Carbonell, Marlon, Moisés and Marc Cardona all trained with the first team squad.
Luis Enrique's men travel to Alicante on Wednesday to play their first game in the Copa del Rey this season in the first lef of the round of 32. The blaugranas are reigning champions and have won the cup two years running. It is worth noting that this away game in Alicante is the third in a week which has seen Barça win at Celtic Park (2-0) and draw at Anoeta against Real Sociedad (1-1).
