Shortly after Rafinha had spoken to the press to discuss FC Barcelona’s meeting with Celtic, it was Luis Enrique’s turn to field the media’s questions.
The manager is aware of the buoyant atmosphere created by the Celtic Park crowd, and described it as “one of the finest settings in Europe”.
Luis Enrique also spoke out about the contrast to the first game between the two sides earlier in the campaign which ended in a 7-0 win for Barça, as well as the fitness of some key players.
Different story
“The game will be nothing like the one in the first round,” Luis Enrique said, in reference to the big win at the Camp Nou.
“Celtic will remain loyal to their philosophy and we must be attentive to a game of high magnitude.”
“They will be similar to the two home games they played against Manchester City and Borussia Mönchengladbach.”
Special match
“It will be special because they are a great club with a spectacular atmosphere and we must enjoy it to the fullest and give the best possible account of ourselves.”
“The team has the chance to qualify and therefore we must win,” he added.
Messi and Piqué’s fitness
“(Piqué) did not train on Monday due to something picked up against Málaga but is available to play,” while the Argentine “is training perfectly and is definitely at 100 per cent to give the best version of himself”.
