All is set for FC Barcelona’s first LaLiga challenge of 2017, a game away to Villarreal on Sunday at 8.45pm CET. Luis Enrique announced his squad on the morning of the match and the big news is the return of Denis Suárez.
And just two days after his 23rd birthday, this will be a special day for the midfielder as he faces the club where he spent all of the last season, making 48 appearances and scoring five goals in a fine campaign wearing yellow.
He comes in for Ivan Rakitic, who has been left out this week, and that’s only change with respect to the side that travelled to Bilbao for the cup game midweek. That means that Aleix Vidal and Mathieu will be sitting out another encounter, while goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen remains side-lined through injury.
The full squad of that will be travelling to El Madrigal is therefore as follows: Ter Stegen, Masip, Piqué, Sergio, Denis Suárez, Arda, Iniesta, Suárez, Messi, Neymar Jr, Rafinha, Mascherano, Paco Alcácer, Jordi Alba, Digne, Sergi Roberto, André Gomes and Umtiti.
