Luis Suárez appeared before the media this Friday in an event arranged to publicise the 12th edition of the ‘Llibre Solidari’, a charity book of sport journalism the proceeds from which go to help children affected by various illnesses. The Uruguayan striker has lent his support to the project and at the press conference to celebrate the book’s completion, he gave his opinion on the side current plight following the defeat against PSG. “Morale is difficult, any defeat hurts,” he said before adding: “Barça are a team who are capable of turning difficult situations around.” For the marksman, the explanation is clear: “We are all responsible, when we win and also when we lose.”
“The message is clear, we have to believe in ourselves. To book a place in history we have to turn the tie around even though it will be difficult. But in football, everything is possible,” said the Uruguay international on the challenge facing the team in the coming weeks.
On the days following the reverse in the Parc des Princes, he said: “The squad is aware of the situation and we know what we have to do in the second leg.”
“We should not to take too much notice of the praise and the criticism and we have to be more united that ever.”
Finally, Suárez touched on his involvement in the charity book project: “Footballers know they have a global image, but away from that they have families and responsibilities. A lot of people need us and always try to be there when I am needed, especially if there are children involved.”
