FC Barcelona kept their Liga challenge alive with a 4-2 defeat of Valencia at the weekend with two goals from Leo Messi and one each from Luis Suárez and André Gomes. But although he didn’t get on the scoresheet, Neymar Jr was once again in truly remarkable form, supplying two assists and shooting five times.
The striker has scored eight goals in the present league campaign, and whenever he has played, he has always been on from the start, playing a central role in attacking duties even though it’s the other two members of the trident that have usually had the honour of putting the ball in the back of the net.
