FC Barcelona visit La Rosaleda this Saturday at 8.45pm CET in week 28 of La Liga. Opponents Málaga currently prop up the table and are in desperate need of points, something that has not escaped the attention of blaugrana boss Ernesto Valverde. “The teams in the bottom part of the table are the ones who pick up most points in the final part of the season,” said the Barça coach of the Andalusians who are currently bat the foot of the table with just 13 points from 27 games. Valverde continued: “Málaga are at a stage where they really need points and this game is another chance for them.”
Barça are top of the table at the moment with an eight point advantage over second placed Atlético. Nevertheless, the Barça boss is wary of complacency setting in: “Every game is important and not winning would mean a lot more pressure going into the next game.”
The fixture against Málaga will be the blaugranes’ final game before the return leg of their Champions League last 16 tie against Chelsea at Camp Nou next Wednesday. “It’s not a test ahead of Chelsea, it’s a game to win to continue picking up points in the league,” concluded Valverde.
