Hansi Flick says reaching semis is a 'success'

FC Barcelona are one of the semi-finalists of the Champions League in 2024/25. Hansi Flick's team had to work hard in the quarter final against Borussia Dortmund and despite a 3-1 defeat in the second leg in Germany, the 4-0 win in the first leg was enough to see them through to the last four. 

Coach Hansi Flick in his post-game press conference in Dortmund admitted his side "had not had one of their better days" in the BVB Stadion. Nevertheless, the Barça coach focused on the bigger picture: "We are through the tie and that was our objective. It's fantastic for the Club to be in the semi-finals. Being in the Champions League semi-finals is a great success and we have to be happy about that."  

"We played against an excellent side in Borussia Dortmund, who made life impossible for us. The only thing that matters today is that we are in the semi-finals. We have to look at the positives and not the negatives. We have a great team who have done brilliantly up to now and that is what matters: we have to keep doing what we have been doing. It will be important to look back at this game and accept what happened, but we also need to look forward - we have big challenges ahead," concluded Flick.
