FC Barcelona are in the enviable position of still having a shot at the treble. In the Copa del Rey final on 26 April they will face Real Madrid and in the Champions League they are well placed to make the semi-finals after Wednesday's 4-0 win over Borussia Dortmund. In La Liga the blaugranes are points ahead of their nearest rivals Real Madrid.
Saturday's sees a vital away trip to Leganés in the league and in his pre-game press conference on Friday, Barça boss Hansi Flick was in no doubt as to the game's importance. "The next game is always the more important. That's the way it is," said Flick.
"It will be vital to play with the same approach and desire that we have in the Champions League. We have to show our strength. There are only eight games left in the league and we have to go for it if we want to win it. If you want to be champions, you have to demonstrate that in these types of games."
The coach and the squad are aware of the challenge facing them at Leganés, a side who need points themselves to help avoid relegation and have already beaten Barça this season. "They won here, they have beaten Atlético Madrid and gave Real Madrid a tough time. Leganés defend really well and they also know how to attack from deep. We will have to be careful and we have to be vert focused for this game. We are leaders and we have to show that. They are fighting against the drop and it will be a tough game. We will see how the players are feeling and make the necessary changes to the team," admitted the German.
'I value what I have'
Hansi Flick is often asked about his life in Barcelona and at the Club. On Friday, he had this to say: "I am enjoying what I have here. I have a fantastic coaching staff, and also medical team, physios etc. I have a squad who train very well and really professional. Everyone has the idea of improving every day and for me, that is quite unique."
"We are like a family, with the employees and the people at the Club who helps us with everything we need. I enjoy being in Barcelona, I am really happy living here and that gives me energy. A lot of things come to me about what we can do and things we need to improve. The project is just starting, and although I am not a coach who signs long term contracts because I like to work from day to day, I value a lot what I have here. "
"We haven't finished, I don't know how much time we will need but I want to finish my job on a positive note," concluded the coach.
