It's Champions League quarter finals week, the round it ended for Barça last season, while their opponents went all the way to the final. Borussia Dortmund have a strong record in this competition, and are not an opponent to be taken lightly. And with good reason.
Highest scorers
Barça might be the highest scoring team in the competition so far with 32 goals, but the Germans are second in the ranking on 28, matched with their countrymen from Bayern Munich and also Real Madrid.

Raphinha and Guirassy on fire
The teams also have the two highest scoring individuals in the Champions League this season. Raphinha leads the way with 11, one more than BVB's Serhou Guirassy, who has ten in the 12 games played so far.
Doors of history
Robert Lewandowski (who has played both both clubs but is now with us) is not far behind on nine. That puts him fourth with Harry Kane in between. The longer format helps, but those are still some impressive stats all round, with those players all threatening to set new club records for Champions League goals in a single season.

Raphinha chasing Messi
Unsurprisingly, Leo Messi holds the Barça record with his 14 goals netted in 2011/12, while he got 12 in 2018/19 and 2010/11. So Raphinha is well-positioned to get onto the podium. Guirassy is closer still to history, for his ten goals are already the joint-best ever for Dortmund, and one more will move him ahead of Erling Haaland (2020/21) and Robert Lewandowski (2012/13).
