The most decisive April in recent years
The month of April begins, a key one for Barça's hopes of success in 2024/25. It is a crucial period and is probably the most significant April of recent years with Barça still involved in three competitions across the domestic and European front.
First the Copa del Rey
In April Barça will have a minimum of seven matches with a possible eight coming in the form of the Copa del Rey final. On Wednesday 2 April, after the second leg of the semi final against Atlético Madrid in the Metropolitano we will know if that eighth game will be needed. The tie stands at 4-4 after the first leg in the Estadi Olímpic so Barça will need to win to make to the final in Seville.
The next test will come in the league as Hansi Flick's side will take on Real Betis on Saturday 5 April at 9pm CEST in the Estadi Olímpic in La Liga. It will be a test for the league leaders as Manuel Pellegrini's side are the most in form team in the league behind Barça.
The Champions League
The second week in April sees the return of the Champions League. Almost a month after booking their place in the last eight, Barça will be back in action on Wednesday 9 April against Borussia Dortmund, kick off at 9pm CEST in the Estadi Olímpic. Between the first leg of the quarter final and the second, which will take place in Dortmund on Tuesday 15 April at 9pm CEST, comes a league game away at Leganés. On Saturday 12 April at 9pm CEST, Barça will take on the side who defeated them earlier in the season in La Liga at the Estadi Olímpic.
Two league games in a week
After the second leg of the Champions League quarter final in Dortmund, Barça have two league games in a row. The first comes against Celta Vigo on Saturday 19 April at 4.15pm CEST with the second to come in midweek against Mallorca.
Should Barça make it past Atlético in the Copa del Rey then on Saturday 26 April they would face either Real Madrid or Real Sociedad in the final in Seville's La Cartuja stadium.
