Hansi Flick: 'I enjoy being at Barça a lot'

On Sunday Barça face Girona (4.15pm CEST) in the first of the ten league games that stand between the team and the La Liga title. Hansi Flick appeared excited at the challenges facing him and his squad in this final phase of the season when he appeared before the press on Saturday at the Ciutat Esportiva ahead of the game at the Estadi Olímpic.  

"We are very good, so I'm looking forward to the game. I know it’s an important match, but every one from these last 10 matches in LaLiga are very important. It will be a great challenge from now until the end of the campaign and we want to fight for everything we can," said Flick. 

Home key 

Of the 10 league games remaining, six will be played at the Estadi Olímpic, starting with Barça v Girona. For Hansi Flick, the support of the fans will be key, not just at home. "We also have four games away from home and we want to win all the games we have left," admitted the German who is having a dream campaign in his first season as Barça boss.

"I am really happy to be here, with these players, with everyone. Everyone enjoys playing football and this is what I really love. I can say that I enjoy being a coach for Barça.," continued Flick. Asked about midfielder Gavi, Flick revealed: "He has the quality to play in different positions and we want to try that. He played really well against Osasuna and I am really happy with him." 

Up front 

For Flick, competition in the squad is healthy, for example for places up front. "The focus is on the team's success. Lewandowski, obviously wants to play and score, but he understands the needs of the team and that makes me proud of him," admitted the coach. As for Lamine: "I think Lamine is really clever. He knows how to manage the game. I spoke with him, asked how he feels and it was really positive. Every player has the responsibility about his body." One more then, ready for the challenges ahead.
