Montjuïc pivotal for league title

Seven of the eleven remaining games in the domestic competition set to be played at the Estadi Olímpic

The LaLiga season is reaching its climax and the Estadi Olímpic is set play a decisive role, with seven of the remaining eleven fixtures to be played at Montjuïc, including an El Clásico. It goes without saying  a home victory in each fixture would go a long way to ensuring the league trophy goes to the blaugranes.

Home games to come

Osasuna, Girona, Betis, Celta, Mallorca, Madrid and Villarreal are all set to visit the Estadi Olímpic before the league season ends. Seven games against seven teams and a win in each could practically sew up the title. It may sound a big claim, but an impregnable Montjuïc buoyed by blaugrana support can really make the difference.

These last three months of the season begin with a double gameweek. Barça play Osasuna on 27 March, fulfilling the postponed gameweek 27 fixture. That's followed by the Catalan derby against Girona two days later. April begins with Barça v Betis and ends with another double gameweek, with Celta Vigo and Mallorca visiting the Estadi Olímpic.

The remaining two home games are against Real Madrid on the weekend of 10/11 May, before Villarreal visit for the penultimate gameweek of the domestic competition (17/18 May).

Four away from home

The other four games are away from home, with only one in April, against Leganés. Hansi Flick's side will travel to Valladolid in the first week of May, before the short trip across the city for Barcelona derby against Espanyol in week three. The league season comes to a close with the final away trip to Bilbao to face Athletic Club.

Fixtures coming thick and fast

That's eleven games plus the European and Copa del Rey commitments, with a quick turnaround between many of the matches. The blaugranes will have two matches a week for four weeks from next week onwards, i.e. Barça will play no fewer than seven times between 27 March and 15 April. A tough schedule to end the season for sure, but it comes with the thrill of knowing that it means that every competition is still there to be won.
