Keeping up with the highest scoring Barça in history

The current Barça team has scored 132 goals in 43 games and are set to become one of the highest goalscoring sides in the Club's history

This season is turning out to be outstanding for Hansi Flick's Barça, not just for the style of play, but for the sheer number of goals scored. Lewandowski is scoring a such a regular rate, Raphinha has had a breakout season in front of goal, Ferran's hunger is evident, and Lamine Yamal is sprinkling the magic, so much so that blaugrana fans could be forgiven for not wanting to celebrate any more goals.

2011/12 side the record holders

That's right, 132 goals in 43 games so far. A figure that with more games due to progression in the Champions League and the Copa del Rey could end up breaking the 2011/12 Barça side's record, the highest goalscoring side in blaugrana history with 190 goals in 64 games. Or they could at least enter the top five for goalscoring teams, to give them a bit easier target.

Difficult, but not impossible

The record holding 2011/12 side finished the season with an average of 2.97 goals per game, while the current iteration have scored 3.06 per game. It's a very hard record to break, because there simply aren't the same amount of games this season (64). At best by reaching both the Champions League and Copa del Rey finals, they could play 61, and the average goals per game would have to increase a bit more by the end of the season too.

All the same, whether or not they beat record is by the by. Trophies are what everyone wants, and so do Flick's team in particular. They've already won the Spanish Super Cup, are leading LaLiga, and are still in both the Copa del Rey and the Champions League, and scoring so many goals just makes everything that bit easier to achieve.
