FC Barcelona picked up a vital win over Real Sociedad at the Estadi Olímpic in La Liga, three points that allows them to return to the top of the table. Coach Hansi Flick summed up the game in his post-game press appearance: "The early red card for Real Sociedad changed everything, it's true, but we forced them into it. They are a very good team but today we deserved the win."
The coach was particularly happy with how solid his team was. "We are playing well at the back and in attack and I am very happy with the team's attitude. Everybody is hungry and today the game went our way but we still have to try and improve after every game," said Flick.
Caution, however, was still the watchword with the German coach warning, "there is still a long way to go and everything can change very quickly."
"We have to keep fighting until the end because we want to everything we can. I am happy to be back to the top of the table in La Liga but now we have to focus on our next objective which is the game against Benfica."
The Barça boss was also happy for Gerard Martín and Marc Casadó on the day they opened their goalscoring accounts for Barça and for Robert Lewandowski: "For a number 9 it's important to score, even if he had a bit of luck, it's always good for us when he finds the net."
