Four possible last 16 opponents in the Champions League

After a crazy night in the Champions League with 18 matches played simultaneously, FC Barcelona ended second in the league table behind leaders Liverpool after the 2-2 draw at home to Atalanta. That means that Hansi Flick's team will face PSG, Benfica, Monaco or Stade Brestois in the last 16 of the competition. 

After finishing 15th and 16th in the league phase, PSG and Benfica will be drawn against 17th and 18th placed side Monaco and Brest. 

Four old friends

Barça have already met three of their four possible rivals in the last 16 in the league phase of the revamped 2024/25 competition. Hansi Flick's side lost 2-1 to Monaco in the opening game of the league phase. However, they did manage to defeat Brest 3-0 at home and then produce a great comeback victory to beat Benfica 5-4 just last week. 

PSG are no strangers to Barça in the competition having knocked out the blaugranes last season over two legs at the quarter final stages of the competition, despite the 3-2 in Paris for Xavi Hernández's team.
