FC Barcelona now know which seven teams they could be facing in the next round of the Copa del Rey. Valencia, Getafe, Leganés, Atlético Madrid, Osasuna, Real Sociedad and Real Madrid are the other clubs that have made it through to the last eight.
Barça, of course, earned their place in the next round thanks to a stunning 5-1 defeat of Real Betis at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys on Wednesday night. Rather than fearing opponents, following that performance Barça are the team everyone else is hoping to avoid.
The details
The draw is taking place next Monday 20 January at 1pm CET. With all the lower league sides, such as Almería, Pontevedra and Ourense, now out of the equation, all eight quarter finalists are from La Liga.
So, there will be no seeding or conditions. All eight teams go into the pot, and as the games are played over a single leg, the host clubs will be drawn at random, all adding to the fun!
The actual games will be played from February 4 to 6, immediately after the conclusion of the opening phase of the Champions League.
