Hansi Flick: 'I have confidence in the Club'

Barça begin 2025 with their first appearance in this season's Copa del Rey. Hansi Flick's team travel to Aragón to take on fourth tier side UD Barbastro on Saturday with kick off at 7pm CET. As is usual, the blaugrana coach appeared before the press on Friday, the day before his squad's first game of the year. 

Flick explained that the first few training sessions of the year had gone well. "We are training week and I like what I have seen from the players," said the German coach before the repeat of last season's last 32 tie in the competition when Barbastro pushed Barça all the way. "I have been watching Barbastro matches and I like what they do. We have to be focused from the off and who what we can do," he added. 

At the same time Flick made reference to the current situation concerning Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor: "Things are as they are, we have to accept them, we are professionals. I am concentrating on football and training. We have confidence in the club. I am always positive but we have to wait for the decision." A positive take on the registrations of both players, something Flick repeated throughout his first appearance before the press of the new year. The next will be after Saturday's game against Barbastro at the Municipal de Deportes, hopefully with a place in the last 16 of the Copa del Rey booked. 

Final session before trip to Barbastro

Hansi Flick's team will travel to Barbastro on Saturday after carrying out their final training session on Friday at the Ciutat Esportiva ahead of their debut in the cup.
