FC Barcelona picked up another important win in the Estadi Olímpic in La Liga with a 3-1 victory over Espanyol. Two goals from Dani Olmo and a strike from Raphinha were enough to secure three points from the Barcelona city derby and after the game coach Hansi Flick admitted in his press conference that was he was happy with the win but in the second half his "dropped the tempo."
Flick said: "We have picked up three points and we have won the derby, which is important. It's true that in the second half we dropped the pace and we lost concentration at certain moments, but these things happen. I accept it because we won but looking ahead to Wednesday [in the Champions League], we will have to be stronger and raise the level."
The German coach also said that up to now the team are having "a great season" and that the first half continued that form. However, Flick admitted: "In the second half with the changes I looked to control more in the midfield."
The return of Dani Olmo was worthy of mention for the coach. "He still need match rhythm but his return to the side was great and we are very happy with him," said Flick before describing Iñigo Martinez as "a real leader who does a lot for the team." Midfielder Marc Casadó has "improved a lot in the last few months and is playing brilliantly" according to the blaugrana boss who concluded by saying, "we have a great team, I'm really happy and you can see that. I have great confidence in the side."
