The trio of Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal and Raphinha this season have made the extraordinary seem everyday. The three attackers are the strike force in vogue after scoring and creating goals seemingly at will in 2024/25. There have been few games this season for Barça that have not seen the three involved in some way in getting the ball into the back of the net.
In Barça's last outing all three were on the scoresheet in the blaugranes' outstanding 4-0 win at the Santiago Bernabéu. At the moment, there is no other attacking trio in Europe's top leagues that can come near them with the statistics telling their own story.
Barça top scorers
The front three's contribution in the current campaign means that FC Barcelona have scored more goals than any other club in Europe's top five leagues. Hansi Flick's team have found the net 47 times so far, 37 in the league and 10 in the Champions League in 2024/25, four more than Bayern Munich and 12 more than third placed Chelsea.
33 of those goals have been shared out between the Pole, the Brazilian and the teenager from La Masia, 70% of the total this season. Then, there is the small matter of assists.
More goals and more assists
The danger created by the three forwards also translates into providing assists for each other and the rest of the team. The combined stats are well ahead of competing trios such Palmer, Jackson and Nkunku at Chelsea and Kane, Olise and Musiala at Bayern.
In 14 games in the league and the Champions League, Lewandowski has 17 goals and two assists, Lamine Yamal six goals and seven assists and Raphinha 10 goals and seven assists. Stratospheric numbers that recall other great forward lines such as Messi, Eto'o and Henry in 2008/09, Messi, Pedro and Villa in 2010/11 and of course Messi, Suárez and Neymar in 2014/15.
Amazing stats
At the moment in 2024/25, all three can register stats that show they are involved in at least a goal a game. Lewandowski with 1.61 goals or assists per appearance, Raphinha 1.19 and Lamine 1.12, numbers that compare to the great trios of the past - in 2008/09, Messi (1.22), Eto'o (1.04) and Henry (1.15), in 2014/15 Messi (1.63), Neymar (1.01) and Luis Suárez (1.24) and in 2015/16 Messi (1.39), Neymar (1.06) and Luis Suárez (1.60).
With plenty of the campaign to come, it remains to be seen if Lewandowski, Raphinha and Lamine Yamal can maintain their impressive stats, but for now let's just sit back and enjoy it.
